Artist Statement
My practice aims to create a dialogue between space and place using installation, expanded sculpture and site‐specific work. It is my aim to try to understand the inherent qualities of space and its relationships. To do- this, I acknowledge place as a perception of experience and memory rather than a location and this allows me to engage with space as an open construct.

The ‘dialogue’ uses interventions and interruptions as part of a site‐specificity that explores in‐ between spaces, inside and outside aiming for liminality and a sense of the other. By using non‐place as a neutral concept as oppose to the explicitly political concept of the border, border to site my work, I look for an interchange of ideas that crosses boundaries physically, mentally and socially using ideas from philosophy, social culture, anthropology, psycho‐geography as well as art theory and history. In the era of globalisation, I feel an interdisciplinary approach is important because it maps onto the cultural nomadism of contemporary art that extends far beyond one’s native culture and language.

The Exhibition runs from 13th-29th May 2010 with a preview taking place on the 13th May; 7-9.30pm. Normal Opening hours are Fri/Sat 1-6pm, or viewing is available by appointment.
